To enhance the event experience, the organisers enlisted -45dB to install an exclusive sound-reducing meeting space, a podcast studio, and strategically placed meeting pods on the show floor. These solutions were designed to address the challenges of conducting private meetings and recordings within a bustling exhibition environment.

The Challenge

-45dB was tasked with developing multiple innovative solutions to accommodate the organisers’ needs:

  • Creating a sound-controlled meeting space directly on the show floor within the organiser’s designated area.
  • Designing a drop-in podcast studio that would allow uninterrupted recordings amidst the busy event environment.
  • Placing several meeting pods throughout the venue, including within the VIP zone, to facilitate private conversations and workspace for delegates.

The Solution

To meet these requirements, -45dB delivered a suite of sound-reducing structures designed for comfort, privacy, and functionality:

Organiser Meeting Rooms

Designed with event-themed graphics to align with ICE Barcelona’s branding, these structures had integrated power sockets and lighting for seamless usability, with a bespoke furniture setup tailored for business meetings.

Sound-Reduced Podcast Studio

Engineered for superior sound isolation to ensure uninterrupted podcast sessions. This space was installed fully equipped with graphics, studio lighting, furniture, and power connectivity.

Branded Pods

Two meeting pods positioned outside the main meeting rooms, featuring themed graphics for consistency with the event design. They provided a quiet space for one-on-one meetings and important calls. Three additional meeting pods installed in the exclusive VIP zone, offering an elevated experience for select attendees.

Results

The sound-reducing solutions provided by -45dB significantly enhanced the event experience by addressing a crucial yet often overlooked issue—noise control. The organiser team successfully conducted multiple high-priority meetings without disruption from surrounding event noise.
